Two schools were built at this location; both named the Lincoln School (Washington No. 4). The second school was built due to the community outgrowing the first school and needing a larger one to house the influx of students. At this point enrollment was reportedly close to fifty students. Once the old school closed, it was moved from the land to serve as a home.
