Metal Bell

The Prairie Gem School had a bell on top of the schoolhouse, but after the schools closing, it was bought by the Kent family and has resided on their farm since. The remainder of the building was used as grain storage and was later torn down.

Originally a boxcar schoolhouse, the schoolhouse was then rebuilt as a square school. Although, no longer standing, the bell from the schoolhouse was saved, but it's location is unknown currently.
