The Douglas #3 school House was originally built in 1874 and it was replaced in 1912 by a newer Douglas #3 School House. The Original School house was then used as a granary and tool shed until around 1984 when it was given to the Audubon County Historical Society who turned it into the Little Red Schoolhouse Museum by 1986.
